|The John Whelan Library (JWL), established in 1985 and named after Cambridge's astronomer John Whelan
(QJRAS, 23, 460), is the library of the
Isaac Newton Group of Telescopes (ING). It is particularly oriented to provide documentation services to the ING
staff and visiting astronomers. For a quick start, please read the Library User Quick Guide.
The JWL maintains liaison with some other libraries and consortia.
The JWL provides two locations, at the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory (ORM) and at sea level:
The JWL supports three archives at the INT: the photographic Plate Library, the Old and Rare Book Library, the Astronomy Documentation archive.
