John Whelan Library Links and Memberships



LINKS WITH OTHER LIBRARIES:

The John Whelan Library (JWL) kept strong links with the RGO library in the 80's and 90's. The JWL was awarded with part of the RGO's collection of periodicals and books when it closed down in 1998. The RGO Archives live at the Cambridge University Library since then.

In 2003 the JWL's collection of duplicates was donated to the Biblioteca "José Pérez Vidal" of the Excmo. Cabildo Insular de La Palma.

The following organisations have made contributions to the operation of the JWL:

The nearest library is actually located at the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory. It is run by the Swedish Solar Telescope and it is dedicated to solar physics.

LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP:

John Whelan Library is part of the Research Councils UK (RCUK) consortium for the supply of books (provided by ) and the Atomics Consortium for the supply of periodicals (provided by ). Special user requests received at the library are usually processed using the Document Supply Service of the and .
