Chris Benn was born in Nottingham, UK. Studied physics
at Bristol University, PhD radio astronomy at Cambridge University.
Worked as research fellow in Leiden, NL for 2 years.
Worked 1984-5 at the Bristol Exploratory, Europe's first 'hands-on' science
centre.
Worked for Royal Greenwich Observatory 1986-89, ING since 1989. His
research interests are cosmology, large-scale structure of the Universe,
radio galaxies and quasars, and his responsibilities at ING are manager of
William Herschel Telescope and support
of visiting astronomers.
Chris lives in Santa Cruz with his wife Esmeralda Darias and son Paul aged 2.
