The Pleiades
Description: M45 (known as The Pleiades or The Seven Sisters) is one of the brightest star clusters in the northern hemisphere and one of the closest to Earth, located at a distance of 136 parsec (444 light years). The cluster is an open cluster containing many hot bright blue stars, the seven brightest of which can easily be seen with the naked eye. A blue haze is visible around the cluster, caused by a cloud of dust that lies in front of the cluster along its line of sight to Earth. The cluster is estimated to last for another 250 million years, until it is eventually dispersed over time to to gravitational interactions with other stars in the galaxy.
