1. THE CATALOGUE IS ALREADY ON-LINE
-----------------------------------

The catalogue of the library is already online. It consists of three files
which can be accessed from the library web pages:

http://www.ing.iac.es/library/book.html - The catalogue of books.
http://www.ing.iac.es/library/jou_slo.html - The catalogue of journals at
  					     the SLO library.
http://www.ing.iac.es/library/jou_mou.html - The catalogue of journals at
					     the INT library.

The catalogue of books contains text books, proceedings, atlases,
catalogues, etc. The catalogues of journals contain journals, magazines,
newsletters, etc.

7. OTHER NEWS
-------------

SKY AND TELESCOPE

The latest issue of Sky and Telescope will be displayed at SLO during one
month. Then it will be displayed at the INT library, where it will be stored.

NATURE

The main collection has been moved to the INT library due to space problems
at SLO library. At SLO we will keep the collection of duplicates.

VISTAS IN ASTRONOMY

Vistas in Astronomy will change its name begining in 1998. It will be
called: New Astronomy Reviews, and it will continue the volume numbering of
Vistas in Astronomy.

RAPID PUBLICATION OF ASTROPHYSICAL JOURNAL LETTERS

The University of Chicago Press has begun a new rapid publication procedure
for the Astrophysical Journal Letters (part 2). Beginning September 3rd,
with the October 10 issue, individual ApJ Letters are being published on-line
one by one, as they are finished, before the entire issue is ready for
publication. These Letters have been accepted, copy-edited, typeset, proofed
by the authors, and proof corrections made. If it is necessary to cite one
of these letters during that period, we urge that it be cited as "to appear
in the issue of...". You can find the new rapid release ApJ Letters by
following the link from http://www.journals.uchicago.edu/ApJ/journal/

* To order books, email me with this information: title, author, ISBN number,
approximate price, publisher, year of publication (or edition number) and
number of copies (if more than one, justify why). Further information is
  welcome too.
* To borrow books, fill in a loan card. In principle, all the books can be
borrowed. Put the loan card into the red plastic bag and leave it
where the book was exactly. Return the book to the 'Returned Books' tray.
The INT library is not a borrowing library.
