John Whelan Library Bulletin is issued at irregular intervals,
whenever there is important news from the library. Suggestions and
comments on this bulletin are welcome.
Note: The INT Library is the library on the first floor of the Isaac
Newton Telescope building and the SLO Library is located on the sixth
floor of Mayantigo building, ING-NOT-TNG's sea-level base in Santa
Cruz de La Palma. The SLO Library is split into a Book Library and a
Periodical Library, both located on the same floor. Online information

2. OTHER NEWS

- Cambridge University Press has taken over the publication of IAU's
volumes of Symposia, Colloquia, Transactions and Highlights from the
Astronomical Society of the Pacific. IP-based subscription is available
at http://www.journals.cambridge.org.
- The Revista Mexicana de Astronomia y Astrofisica, both the main
journal and the conference series, are now available online at
http://www.astroscu.unam.mx/~rmaa/rmaa.html.
- IAU Circulars and MPECS are not longer available free online by
the Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams and the Minor Planet
Center. However, we are allowed to make them available online on our
intranet. They can be found at:
http://www.ing.iac.es/~library/mayantigo/.
- The IAU Executive Committee, in its meeting of 18-20 April 2005
decided to upgrade the IAU Colloquium series to IAU Symposium status,
and to simplify the IAU meeting proposal procedure. This implies that
the IAU Colloquium series will stop at No. 200.
- Electro Optics: New. Displayed at the SLO Periodical Library.

GOLD RULES FOR LIBRARY USERS
1. NONE of the items at the INT Library or the SLO Periodical Library
can be borrowed.
2. ALL items at the SLO Book Library can be borrowed except those
labeled as 'NOT TO BE TAKEN AWAY' or 'FOR REFERENCE'.
3. If, after having a look at a book, you don't know where to put it
back, please leave it in the RETURNED BOOKS tray at the SLO Book
Library.
4. NEVER take away a book without filling in a LOAN CARD.
5. NEVER place a filled loan card on the shelves. Leave it in the
FILLED LOAN CARDS mailbox at the SLO Book Library instead. Books
must be returned within one year.
6. After borrowing, NEVER return a book to the shelves, even if you
know the right place. Leave it in the RETURNED BOOKS tray at the
SLO Book Library.
7. NEVER take away the books placed in the RETURNED BOOKS tray.
