1. LIBRARY MOVE STATUS
----------------------
John Whelan Library is beeing moved partially from the Isaac Newton
Telescope to the Sea Level Office (SLO). SLO library will be the main one. The
library in the former location will have the main collections of the
astrophysical journals (ApJ, ApJ Letters, ApJ Supplement Series, A&A, A&A
Supplement, AJ, MNRAS and PASP) and other useful material for visitors. At the
moment we have moved 85% in relation to what we expect. The move will finish
during the last days of february but borrowing is already possible in both
libraries. The following tables are very useful:

QUARTERLY JOURNAL OF THE ROYAL ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY.
This journal, which has been published since 1960, will cease publication at
the end of 1996 and will be replaced with a new bi-monthly journal entitled
"Astronomy and Geophysics". The new journal will also subsume the Newsletter

NEW ASTRONOMY
Elsevier Science announces the launch of a fully electronic journal in
astronomy and astrophysics: New Astronomy. New Astronomy publishes articles
in all fields of astronomy and astrophysics: theoretical, observational and
instrumental. It includes full length research articles and letter articles.
The Journal covers solar, planetary, stellar, galactic and extragalactic
astronomy and astrophysics. It reports on original research in all
wavelength bands, ranging from radio to gamma-ray. New Astronomy is fully
electronic, available on WWW (http://www.elsevier.nl/locate/newast), as well
as offered for Local Area Network application. A traditional paper edition
is also published. Subscription price: $366.00.
ELECTRONIC EDITION OF ApJ
The American Astronomical Society (AAS) and The University of Chicago Press
are pleased to announce the electronic edition of the Astrophysical Journal
(ApJ) and the Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series. These publications,
approximately 25,000 printed pages which is roughly forty percent of the
entire peer-reviewed research in astronomy, is online since the 1st of
January 1997. Please note that the Society has no plans to discontinue the
corresponding paper versions of these publications. For a subscription to
both the paper edition of the Astrophysical Journal and access to the
electronic editions of both the ApJ and the ApJ Supplement, the 1997 rate
will be $1,050. dspray informs it's possible to get an electronic
subscription to ApJ for $80 a year if you are AAS member. More information:
