Sad News about Lionel

We regret to announce that Lionel passed away last Friday, 18th March. For more than 20 years, Lionel was the usual taxi driver for visitors to ING's telescopes, and many astronomers around the world will remember him with affection. Lionel retired in 2007, and was succeeded in the family business by his sons Lionel and Carlos. We will all miss him.

Lamentamos comunicar el fallecimiento de Lionel el pasado viernes, 18 de marzo. Lionel fue el taxista habitual de los visitantes al ING, y muchos astrónomos de diferentes lugares del mundo, le recordarán con afecto. Lionel se había retirado en 2007 y desde entonces sus hijos Lionel y Carlos han continuado el negocio familiar. Todos le echaremos de menos.
