WHT Coordinates, Maps

The geodetic coordinates of the WHT were measured in 1993 using a GPS receiver:

Latitude: 28 45 38.3 N (+28.761 deg approx)

Longitude: 17 52 53.9 W (-17.882 deg approx)

Ground floor height: 2332 m (note that this is not the height of the intersection of the telescope axes)

The above numbers are taken from the 1994 ING Observers' Guide section 1.2. The latitude differs slightly from that given in the 1988 edition.
