PFIP on the WHT

The Prime Focus Imaging Platform (PFIP) or Prime Focus Camera is an optical mosaic camera for use at the prime focus of the 4.2m William Herschel Telescope.

The PFIP camera consists of two EEV 2k×4k CCDs more sensitive in the blue, giving a scale of 0.24"/pixel and a field of view 16.2'×16.2' (the vertical gap between the two chips being 9" wide).

A selection of filters is available with PFIP. The filter wheel can hold 7 filters simultaneously. Binning and windowing of the mosaic are supported.
