National Astronomical Observatory of Japan Camera (NAOJ Camera)

Designed and built by: NAO Japan and University of Tokyo.

Description: The NAOJ Camera is a prototype of the instrument planned for the Subaru Japanese large telescope project. The instrument is an array 0f 40 1024×1024 CCDs, each with 15 micron pixels. The gap between the CCDs is about equal to the size of the CCDs, and a single widefield (50×30 arcmin) image is generated from a set of 4 exposures.
