Mars and the Milky Way
Description: Mars sits above the JKT as it shines behind a layer of hazy cloud. Despite the haze, the Milky Way is bright enough to make out central dust lanes; areas in which light cannot pass due to the vast clouds of dust stretching across the centre of the Milky Way. The high bright star is Altair, and to the right of the central dust lane near the horizon, Saturn sits camouflage amongst the stars. The image was taken from the INT. Credit: Thomas Davison.
