3.4.1 Creating objects

In the layout of the Folder page, the buttons that create objects of different types are located on the top button bar.

To create an object of a particular type, click the respective button. This will bring up a form in which to enter the information that BSCW needs to create the new object.

Add Folder
lets you create a new Folder in the current Folder, thus extending and refining your Folder hierarchy.
Add Meeting
lets you create a specialized Folder with a variety of additional functions. For details see section 5.1 and section 5.2.
Add Discussion
lets you create a specialized Folder that can contain only Notes, and lets you write the first Note in this Discussion (see section 4.9).
Add Note
lets you create a new Note in the current Discussion; this Note does not reply to any other Note (see section 4.9).
Add Search
lets you create a persistent, named Search Result object and lets you specify the search area, search engine and query. The list of "hits" returned by the search engine will be the content of the Search Result object (see section 4.10).
Search
lets you search the Web or your BSCW server. The list of "hits" returned by the search engine will replace the current content of your personal Search Result object, i. e. the result of your previous  Search  action (see section 4.10).
Add URL
lets you create a URL object whose entry in the current Folder page or Meeting page provides a link to a resource that can be accessed via http:// or ftp://or gopher:// etc.
Section 4.11 discusses address formats of BSCW objects referenced by a URL object.
Click  Add URL  to upload the resource referenced by the URL object to the currrent Folder or Meeting. This action creates a separate Document with the same name as the URL object.
