Change FISBA Hard Drive

The spare FISBA hard drive is located on the second shelf of the NAOMI cabinet in GRACE.  To change the hard drives follow the instructions below.

  1. Shutdown the FISBA PC.  The FISBA PC is located at the top of the 2nd Electronics Cabinet in the Electronics room inside GRACE.

  2. De-cable FISBA and remove it from the electronics cabinet.

  3. Remove the PC's casing, decabling and removing the hard drive.

  4. Check that the spare hard drive has it jumpers set to master.

  5. Install the spare remembering to plug in its internal power and data ribbon cables.

  6. Before installing the PC back into the electronics rack, it is a good idea to check that it works.  You can use the FISBA monitor, keyboard and mouse that are on  the computer rack in the same room.

  7. If all is well then return FISBA to its place in the electronics rack following the Installing and Cabling FISBA Procedure.

If all isn't well then it is a good idea to call the appropriate NAOMI Expert.  You may have to restore the FISBA hard drive from CD's.  Before attempting that it is best to check with someone that has gone through the procedure first.
