Installing and Cabling FISBA
The current FISBA pc contains a Pentium II 300MHz Processor, a 8Gb Harddrive, 128Mb RAM, a CD ROM drive, a floppy disk drive and a dedicated interferometer ISA interface card. The machine hosts the Windows 98 2nd Edition operating system. Connected to the PC via a peripheral throughput cable is a mouse, keyboard and standard monitor.
FISBA currently, placed on its side, resides in the second electronics rack in the electronics room of GRACE. The FISBA monitor, keyboard and mouse are placed on the computer rack. The following instructions will guide you through the installation and cabling procedure;
Installation of FISBA
Place the FISBA monitor, keyboard and mouse on the computer racks in GRACE.
Place the PC on the top shelf of the middle electronics cabinet and rotate 90 degrees so that the front of the pc is facing the electronics room and the back of the PC is facing the doors. (You may have to remove the side panel of the cabinet).
Cabling (FISBA pc)
Connect the power cable to FISBA pc.
Connect the monitor, keyboard and mouse connectors of the peripheral throughput cable to the FISBA pc.
Connect the FISBA interferometer cable to the D-type connector located on the interferometer ISA card connected on the FISBA pc.
The peripheral throughput cable should then be laid so the other end reaches the computer rack.
Cabling (Computer rack)
Connect the FISBA mouse to the peripheral throughput cable.
Connect the FISBA keyboard to the peripheral throughput cable.
Connect the FISBA monitor to the peripheral throughput cable.
Turn the power on to the FISBA pc and the monitor. See the Starting
and Setting up FISBA on SBIGPC2 procedure.
