Starting and Setting up FISBA on SBIGPC2
This procedure describes how to set up the communications between the FISBA pc and the SBIGPC2 pc. The FISBA pc is currently situated in the second electronics cabinet in GRACE whereas the SBIGPC2 pc is situated above NAVIS in the control room. Please follow these instructions;
Start the FISBA pc and start host daemon.
Check to see if the FISBA pc is installed and cabled, as described in the Installing and Cabling FISBA Procedure.
Power on the FISBA pc and wait for the machine to boot and automatically login.
The machine will automatically start the FISBA software, when loaded you will have to click on the PCAnywhere icon and select FISBA to broadcast on the network as a host.
Start the SBIG2PC pc and make connection.
Power on the SBIGPC2 camera in the control room. When prompted press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to logon.
The username, password and domain required to log in to SBIGPC2 are clearly marked on the SBIGPC2 monitor.
Once logged in double-click the 'FISBA connection' icon.
When prompted type in the 'Fisba Connection' username and password which again is clearly marked on the SBIGPC2 monitor.
Once
connected you will have full control of the FISBA pc from the control room
using the SBIGPC2 keyboard and mouse.
NOTE: The display refreshes slower than real-time. This set up
is mainly for control. It will allow you to reset the ftp daemon if
required without going into the control room. To see how slow the
connection is, move the cursor and watch the response on the adjacent FISBA real-time
display monitor.
