Checking the state of the telescope computer

  This section covers the ways of finding out the state in which the telescope computer  has been left. The possibilities are:-

1. Control system loaded and running.

   If the Telescope Control System is running, the Beckmann Display of UTC and LST on the Control Desk in the telescope control room will be updating.
   If such is the case, you are in business and need not read further in this Chapter.

2. Closed down deliberately, with the disc write-protected (Section ).
3. Running, but with the disc protected in hardware and/or software (Section ).
4. Running, with the disc write-enabled, but no telescope software working (Section ).
5. In some strange condition, which will require a system reboot. (Section ).

• Control system not working.
• Running but with disc write-protected
• No response on the System Console
