11 February 2000. 200th anniversary of the day when the famous astronomer Sir William Herschel discovered infrared rays.

"Tonight on the William Herschel Telescope" is a course given by Dr Rob Jeffries, starting on 29th February in the Department of Physics, Keele University.

15 March 2000. The Milky Way was Formed in a Record Short Time.

16 March 2000. Successful First Light on INGRID, the ING infrared camera.

17 March 2000. Live connection with the WHT on the course of a lecture about Information Technology given by Prof John Taylor (Director of Research Councils) at the Royal Institution, London.

Astronomical Images taken with the Jacobus Kapteyn Telescope CD-ROM. This CD-ROM, published by Twin Press, was produced by Dr Walter Jaffe (Leiden Observatory) and provides multi-colour, professional CCD exposures of deep sky objects as an introduction to astronomical image processing.
