If you happen to know the coordinates of a suitable guide star, you can enter them directly in the object catalogue. Enter the object name and its guide star guidename at the User Interface in the usual way and associate the two entries by typing:
name
(This selects name as the edit source), followed by:
GUIDE guidename
This information can, of course, be entered from a prepared disc file. Note that the coordinate systems used for an object and its guide star must be the same (both Apparent or Mean with the same Equinox).
In order to move the guide probe to the correct position, press the GUIDESTAR button on the A&G panel.
