This section is intended primarily for La Palma staff. It describes several
calibration procedures and quality control tests in detail. Some of these tests
must be done every night (by the Telescope Operator), others only on
occasion. Several procedures require the inspection and/or redefinition of
global Task Common parameters, others are just detailed recipes which can
also be of use to experienced observers.
It is recommended to read the La Palma Technical Note No. 39:
``Telescope Control Software: Global Variables and Configuration Files'',
before having a go at those procedures dealing with Task Common variables
(see also section
