Duty Engineer

Below is a list of frequently found faults.  By this stage the telescope operator should have performed the General Recovery Procedure.  If the duty engineer is called then the most common reason is because there is a lost fibre.  The list of faults below also contain a list of faults that the telescope operator should be able to solve along with some faults that only the duty engineer is expected to solve.

NOTE : It is NOT generally adviseable to restart ICL unless you have exhausted all other possibilties.

AF2 Drops Off The Utlility Network.
AF2 Fails to FTP Files.
AF2 Elimining WYFFOS Messages.
AF2 `afsetup' Fails Continuously.
Failure Of The Power To The PVP Servo Amplifier Crate
AF2 Failure To Pick Up A Fibre. (DUTY ENGINEER)
Lost Fibre  (DUTY ENGINEER)
Removal of the Fibre Module (DUTY ENGINEER)
