Version description

Compared to the previous AG version 4.3, this is functionally little different, though much attention has been paid to the operation of the AF2 specific routines. These have been tested, debugged, recoded where necessary, following the version 4.3 development, and made robust.

Compared to the previous Af2 version ( 4.1.1 ), this version is different internally, but has a compatible UtilNet interface. Performance is significantly improved follwing the version 4.3 developments and the system has been extensively tested for functional robustness.

It was used during the April 1995 Af2 commissioing run, and after a few bugs were removed, worked reliably and robustly with the MAP and ACQUIRE functions. The system worked for several nights, being used from the ICL procedures alone and did not require any attention. Heavy useage was made of the MAP function and the autoguider system proved sensitive, reliable and accurate.

This version is also compatible with the UES Prime and Cass applications. When functional testing of these versions is complete, it is likely to be released as the normal operating version for the WHT.
