INT/JKT - Transferring Catalog files from VAX/VMS system to Perkin-Elmer TCS
Gary Mitchell 09-APR-1997

To prepare your exabyte tape first find an exabyte drive connected to a VAX. There are some in the WHT terminal area adjacent to the WHT control room.

Please note as of November 1996 there is no longer a tape drive on the VAXstation LPVS4 in the INT control room. The VAXstation LPVS4 has been permanently removed.

Please note as of January 1997 there will no longer be any "general user" VAXCluster. LPVE will no longer be available.

Log onto the VAX (use LPVE or LPVF) Set your current directory to the directory where the catalog disk files are located and give the command

$ INTCAT

or

$ JKTCAT

Follow the instructions and when complete take your tape to the appropriate telescope. These programs provide instructions on how to restore your tape and give you the option to have these sent to you as a mail message. You will need these instructions.
