PNS MANUAL: Galactic PNe
Catalogue of suitable Galactic PNe (for focussing, efficiency and/or velocity references)
m5007 is calculated as follows:
m5007 = -2.5 * (log I5007 + log(Fbeta)) - 8.74 ,
where the values I5007 and log(Fbeta) are tabulated
in the
Strasbourg-ESO catalogue
or in
Wright, Corradi & Perinotto (2002)
.
FPNS is the 5007 flux (e-/s) in each arm
for an efficiency of 15%, i.e. disregarding
filter bandpass
t in the final column is the recommended exposure
time in seconds for the centre of the field, giving 10,000 e-
with the named filter (measured results)
