PNS MANUAL: Biases
How to take bias sequences
It is always a good idea to take a series of bias exposures,
to check for readnoise. To avoid crosstalk left and right arms should be read out separately.
- Ensure dome is dark, shutter closed.
- Make sure CCDs are set up as for science exposures:
check window and readout speed
- Issue DAS command multbias pnsl 11; multbias pnsr 11
which will first take 11 PNSL biases, then 11 PNSR biases.
