Workshop Accommodation

The Workshop Location

The workshop is being held in Halifax Hall of Residence, developed around a Victorian mansion house. It is set in extensive and picturesque grounds, located to the South West of Sheffield city centre.

The full address of Halifax halls and instructions on how to get there can be found on our City and Travel Info page

The meeting rooms and social areas are set in the main building, with the accommodation in linked wings.

Accommodation

A block booking of rooms has been made at a favourable rate with Halifax Hall of Residence. The bulk of the rooms are single rooms with en-suite facilities, and provide a comfortable standard of accommodation. These are available at a rate of UKP 37.00 per night, this includes a full English breakfast.

A smaller number of twin rooms are also available on a first come, first served basis. These have shared bathroom facilities. The room cost (for two persons) is UKP 40.00 per room per night (also including full English breakfast per person).

Booking in Halifax Hall of Residence offers the convenience of being on site for easy access to the workshop.

If you would prefer to make alternative arrangements then Sheffield offers a range of accommodation to suit all tastes. Pointers to information on Sheffield accommodation can be found on the City of Sheffield page.

Food and Drink

Lunch is available in the Halifax Hall of residence dining room. This is a three course buffet style meal. It is available at a cost of UKP 10 per day. It should be noted that the nearest alternative eating places are some 10 minutes walk.

Dinner is not provided in Hall except for the Conference Dinner on the night of Thursday 8 April 1999. It is anticipated that delegates will take the opportunity to explore the gastronomic delights of Sheffield for their evening meals. However, the organisers hope that delegates will attend the conference dinner.

Drinks: a bar is available in Halifax Hall during the lunch and evening (with a bar extension until midnight each night).
