1. Summary

This document summarises the changes made to I23-1-3, the latest version in the I23 release tree of the INT Telescope Control System, to produce the release tree I24.

4. Deliverables and Installation

The CMS classes necessary to build TCS versions in the I24 release tree are defined in Section 8, they are also defined in the version files in [INT_LOGIN.VERSION].
CMS libraries containing the source code for the TCS, the PLOT and CAMTEST utilities, and the build procedures are held on LPAS3; the root directory for the CMS libraries is defined by the logical name SOURCE_DIR.

5. Reasons for release

I24-1-0

New features

The Cass rotator software limits have changed to 140° ± offset, where offset is currently set at 2°. This is to avoid the rotator overshooting past 140°, and subsequently being sent in the wrong direction, into a hardware limit. The value of offset can be changed by the command LIMITOFFSET, this change is not retained when the TCS is restarted.
Disallow the movement of a telescope axis that has not been zeroset. The following commands now check for zeroset:
GOCAT, GOMOON, GOTO, NEXT, PARK.
The FITS keyword EQUINOX is written as a real.
The FITS keyword UTOBS has been added as a string.

Defects fixed

DR 17556 and PIMS issue 755 : Cass rotator driven into limit.

Needs CAMAC driver v2-3.
Compatible with TPOINT v4.4-4.
