Use case: test a camera using the observing system
Purpose: to ensure that a mounted camera can be used for observing.
Actors: change-crew member or DE or TO.
Outline:
With the observing system running, the user first checks the status displays
for any sign of trouble. S/he then does these checks:
- Take a bias frame. Check for light leakage, pick-up noise or other
peculiarities in the image. Check that the "observation" is logged.
- Take a glance frame of a few seconds. Check that there is light on the
detector.
- Check that the camera will accept binning/windowing/gain-setting commands;
use glances to show that these commands do the right thing.
Any problems can then be investigated by releasing the camera from the DAS and
using the engineering interface.
