| Venue and accommodation
The conference will be held in the building of the Real Club Náutico in the centre of Santa Cruz de La Palma. There are two hotels nearby, the Hotel Marítimo and the Aparthotel Castillete, which provide good accommodation at reasonable prices (see below). For participants who will bring their families, we can recommend the four star Hotel H10 Taburiente Playa or the three key Apartments H10 Costa Salinas in Los Cancajos. Los Cancajos is a quiet beach resort located between La Palma airport and the capital Santa Cruz de La Palma. The distance from Los Cancajos to either of these two is only about 4 km, and there is a half-hourly bus service all day between Santa Cruz-Los Cancajos-Airport and back. For students or other people on a slim budget, we recommend the Pension La Cubana, located in the very centre of Santa Cruz, just down the road from the conference venue. See the bottom of this page for rates. NB: Participants must make their own reservations before the 1st of April 2005, and preferably as soon as possible!. These prices are per person per night, and include taxes. The hotel offers half pension (a buffet dinner) for only 3.00 euros extra per day per person, but be aware that a supplement of 3.61 euros will be charged in addition to that for water and wine in the buffet dinner (other drinks can be bought separately).

Budget accommodation: Students and other people who wants a really good deal in central Santa Cruz should make their reservation at the Pension Cubana. The prices are 20 euros for a single room and 26 euros for a double. Thus, two people may share a double room for 13 euros per person.
