Abstract:
We present a new technique to decouple the
nucleus/host spectra of AGNs using IFS. This technique is an extension
to 3D of the 2D fitting used to decouple the nucleus/host component in
AGN imaging.
Unique features of IFS like (a) the super-sampling due to differential
atmospheric refraction and (b) the intrinsic determination of the PSF
(for type I AGNs), make this technique unique to analyze the host
spectrum of AGNs using AO. We have already used it to extract the host
spectrum of 3C 120 (Sanchez et la., 2004, ApJ, 615, 156).
