Title:
Scientific prospects with MUSE at VLT

Abstract:
MUSE is a second generation giant integral field
spectrometer in development for the VLT. It is designed to work with a
ground layer adaptive optics system including 4 sodium laser guide stars.
MUSE design has been optimized for the study of galaxy formation and
evolution but it has a wide range of possible applications; e.g.
monitoring of outer planets atmosphere, young stellar objects environment,
supermassive black holes and active nuclei in nearby galaxies or massive
spectroscopic survey of stellar fields.
