At this stage it is usual to input the observer's target source catalogue. This can be prepared before hand on one of the VAX/VMS machines and then transferred across to the TCS.
The input file should be a simple ASCII file containing details of one source per line, of the format:
<source_name> <right_ascension> <declination> <equinox>
an example might be:
HD123456 12 34 56.789 11 22 33.44 B1950
The file can then be transferred to the TCS with the TCS command INCLUDE <catalogue_name>. An example might be:
TCS> INCLUDE LPVE::DISK$USER1:[GUEST02.CAT]TARGETS
where the file TARGETS.CAT will be transferred to the TCS.
Full details can be found for these commands in the WHT Users' Manual (1994).
