This command allows an archive user to prepare corrections to the Observations
Catalogue. The value of any catalogue item can be modified. A request will be
sent to the archive manager for authorization, in the same way as the REQUEST
command sends requests. The modify facility is used by the archive manager for
the ongoing exercise of catalogue maintenance (see section ).

MODIFY_REQUEST can be used in 2 modes:
The user can jump to another line in the table with the /LINE_NO=n qualifier. If the /LINE_NO qualifier is given with the command itself, the prompting will start at that specified line (by default it starts at the first observation).
Exit from menu mode is done by typing CTRL/Z; CTRL/C can be used to cancel the menu mode and the request.
The /[NO]COMMENT qualifier can be used to specify if you want or do not want to give comments explaining your request. The comments can be given in line-mode or in editor-mode via the qualifier /EDIT or /TPU. (Similar to the MAIL_COMMENT command). Typing CTRL/C cancels the request in either mode. Note that on the mailserver you can only use line-mode; the last line of the comment must then consist of the string: ` CTRL/Z'. Default is /COMMENT/NOEDIT/NOTPU.
Keywords
Modifications can be specified for nearly all catalogue items of an observation
(see Table ; except CELL, BOX, NIGHT, EXPIRATION, LINE, and,
obviously, FITS_TAPE and FITS_FILE).
Most modifications are made straightforwardly by specifying a new value for
the keyword, e.g. :
MODIFY/INP=3A/NOCOM DATE=3-JAN-1993, INI=EJZ, INST=PRIME
For more details about the MODIFY function, the user is referred to the on-line HELP facility (type: HELP MODIFY).
