This is the page for the WHT Autoguider system. The system contains a set of CCD cameras mounted on the telescope, feeding a VME processor in the control room.Frames from one of the cameras are procesed to provide an estimate of the current position of a guide star in te focal plane of the telescope. This position is fed to the Telescope Control System computer which closes a loop to make the telescope follow the guide star. This corrects drift and slow tracking errors in the telescope system.
