POWER SUPPLY AND UTILITIES

 

The INT has some major engineering systems where minor faults may be cured by the Support Astronomer or Telescope Operator if they have the required experience. Most faults, however, will require the intervention of the the Duty Technician. On no account should a visiting observer tamper with any of these systems:

• The Buffer Set  
• Oil Pump and Hydrostatic Bearing System  
• Air-Conditioning to the PE3210 Instrument Computer
• Air-Conditioning to the PE3220 Telescope Computer and CLIP Centre
• Gaseous Nitrogen Distribution System
