Preparing for a reduction

The frames neccesary for the reduction should be first converted into FIGARO standard data files. FIGARO contains a set of tape reading and format translation utilities to help you do this. Any pre-reduction processing as outlined above should then be performed on the raw data frames.

In addition it may then be neccesary to rotate all the frames through 90 degrees to ensure that the orders run mainly parallel to the frame rows.
