Special Instruments

• TAURUS

  A two-dimensional imaging spectrograph. This instrument can be used in etalon mode, where a series of exposures is taken through a sequence of narrow-band Fabry-Perot etalon settings. The data are three dimensional, and difficult to reduce. There is a reduction package available at RGO and at Roden (The Netherlands).

  Alternatively, TAURUS can be used as imaging instrument, using a filter instead of the etalon.
