Detectors

There are two types of detectors in use at ING instruments: the Imaging Photon Counting System (IPCS) and the Charge Coupled Device (CCD). The catalogue also contains a small number of observations recorded on photographic plate, but in those cases the catalogue only serves as observing log, and the data cannot be retrieved in a standard way; these observations are flagged (see section ) and are best ignored when searching the archive.
