Primarily to investigate potential suppliers of scientific CCDs. Our main
interest is to procure large-format (), thinned CCDs with smallish pixels
(
). We visited a selection of observatories, laboratories & manufacturers
of CCDs; we also visited Berkeley and San Diego State University for discussions.
The following sections describe our discussions within the USA during
May, and in some instances we have included more recent information.
