BIN/UNBIN - On-chip binning

BIN can be used to bin the pixels when the chip is read out from individual pixels to groups of pixels up to a maximum size of 4 4, including combinations such as 2 1, 3 2 pixels etc.

Parameters

There are two - the number of pixels in the (or short) axis (1,2,3 or 4) and the number of pixels in the (or long) axis (1,2,3 or 4) over which it is required to bin.

Both will be prompted for.

Example

Adam:> BIN 2 2

To cancel on-chip binning, use the UNBIN command, or, alternatively, the CHIP command can be used.

BIN cannot be used with parameters and or with the RCA chip, or in conjunction with the WINDOW command.
