GHRIL Handling Summary wht-naomi-70
Document
number: AOW/GEN/RAH/7.0/08/97GHRIL Handling
Version date: 27 August 1997
1. Introduction
This document is a summary report on the current overall
plans for the handling of the NAOMI system assembly and disassembly at the
GHRIL.
2. OMC
All major OMC components except the electronics racks (see
Section 4) have been designed to allow manual lifting by a maximum of two people. For transportation
to/from GHRIL the components will be placed in their shipping containers.
Harnesses will be attached to the containers to allow the use of a dome crane
to convey the boxes between floors. A small trolley will be used for
transporting components between the dome floor and the Test Focal Station.
3. WFS
The WFS has an individual handling frame designed in, as
presented at the PDR. A hatch should be provided above it in the GHRIL roof.
The hatch opening should be at least 1.0 m by 1.2 m. It should be positioned
over the footprint of the WFS on the GHRIL table. The WFS will be lifted
through the hatch using the dome crane. Any independent WFS
components/attachments not covered by the planned lifting arrangements as presented
at PDR would be packed and moved as per the OMC components.
4. Electronics Racks
All electronics racks used in the GHRIL control room will be
transported through the existing roof hatch using harnesses and a dome crane.
The racks will have casters for transport on a level, smooth floor.
