keep
command
This page is part of the ING manual INS-DAS-29
Operations
manual for UltraDAS.
Function:
Keep accesses the memory in which a glance observation is stored
and saves the observation in a FITS file. The file is passed to the logging
and archiving software.
Usage:
keep [<camera>]
Notes and caveats:
As well as saving glances, keep can sometimes salvage regular runs
that would otherwise be lost. One possible scenario is having a disc fail
when a run is being saved:
run 5000 "Enormous exposure we can't afford to lose"
(run reads out normally)
(depressing message from system about discs)
keep
The crucial point is the line "run reads out normally". If this hasn't
happened, then there is nothing for keep to save. Hence, keep
is always worth trying, but it will only work in a limited number of cases.
