Notes on observing in GHRIL. This page under construction.
When using the autoguider on-axis, the front of the baseplate should coincide with the pencil mark between holes 9 and 10 of the GHRIL table, the numbering starting with hole 1 at the end of the table nearest the Nasmyth mirror.
Optical axis is 150 mm above the bench.
Cass tracking performance while people moving around in GHRIL: slow movements have no effect, normal walking results in +- 0.5 arcsec jumps, light jogging results in 1 - 2 arscec jumps (tested by CRB/PG 11/7/00).
The GHRIL optical bench was removed 7/00 so that modifications required for NAOMI could be carried out. NAOMI has its own (similar-size) optical bench, which will be swapped for the normal optical bench as required. Repositioning of the normal optical bench after the first swap will be to better than 100 microns, much better on subsequent occasions.
