Hi Diego,

the answer is that, using equipment we have available now, we would like

 	b) ATM 34Mbps connected to your Ethernet switch

We are in the process of bidding for funds for two routers. What follows is therfore only a *plan*.

The plan includes

One Cisco router in the residencia which has either of the following connections
Either
- input from the IAC router (as ATM)
- input from serial line to S/C La Palma
- output to the WHT router (as ATM)
Or
- input from the IAC router (as ethernet)
- input from serial line to S/C La Palma
- output to the WHT router (as ethernet)
One Cisco router in the WHT with the following connections
- input from the ING router at the residencia as either ATM or ethernet
- output to a Fore Systems hub in the WHT

If we can get funding for these routers the obviously we would be more interested in

It has always been a hope that there could be a video link between La Palma and Cambridge. I don't think there would be much demand for a link to La Laguna. However I will publicise your message and invite responses. I will send you a summary if I get any.

I appreciate that your plans are probably still at an early stage. If we do get funding for our routers we would obviously want to avoid buying them with ethernet cards and then have to substitute ATM cards. So, if we get funding I'll ask you how definite or otherwise is the IACs provision of 34Mbs ATM to the residencia.
