20000512.4 JC : Supply NWG with exact figure for acceptable level of connectivity. Send security requirements to all UIs as he will not be present at the security meeting (neither will the other HEGRA representative Toni Coarsa). This will be provided within the next 2 months by Toni.

This probably won't be done and Don said that he would allow members of the NWG to see the ING policies.
DCA reported that 155 hours were lost in the first 6 months of the calendar year. This equates to approximately 3.5% downtime. Main problem caused by UPS failure and lightening strike which damaged the SLO short-range modem. Unfortunately this is an increase of an order of magnitude when compared to the previous six months.
There was a report regarding a power loss in the Residencia without appropriate announcements. Diego to contact Juan Carlos to determine cause.
Recalculate .......
Diego said the Marconi 3810 has been changed with a Avaya with a ATM card and the 48 Ethernet ports. It is connected to the ATM switch (Marconi 3810). The ATM switch has a fibre ATM port and a serial port. The links between the telescopes and the Ibercom Room were changed. They are now all 100mpbs.
The ATM swicth has two PSU but only one is connected to the mains. The ING offered to allow the IAC to connect the second PSU to the ING UPS.
The IAC want to arrange another time to try and change the new Cisco 3600 after the problems that occurred on *****.
Wanted to do this on Tuesda but the ING said that this will not be a good time. Diaego will com on Tesuday to sort of uthe NOt problem and willl bring the equipment for the ING to chnage in the 3600.
Such work should be carried out at the beginning of the week.
Diego asked the UI to check their IP addresses to make that they were all required.
The ING policies are now available to be used as templates. [DC]
Is there a need to suggest to the OSC that a sitewide IT policy should be implemented?[ML] After considerable discusses it was suggested that this would be a reasonable approach. This will be discussed further using the mailing list.
No major incidences.
ING - SLO firewall. Need help from IAC to install ORM network. The TNG have no firewall. Will install firewalls eventually.
The ING offered a firewall services to the ING.
Will install PIX firewall in internal inetwork
Virus protection using McAfee E500
1) ORM upgrade - problems explained.
2) Networking issues in CALP. Diego was asked if the networking infrastructure has been designed for the CALP. The network plugs and network cables has been decided. Hasn't seen new plans and really doesn't know how the building will be cabled. The first plans were changed by those responsible but Diego will ask Jesus Jimenz to check on the development of the CALP. someone will propose a solution.
