The Computer Group exists to provide an effective computing infrastructure for use by the staff and visitors of the Isaac Newton Group of Telescopes. This infrastructure is provided in support of the defined goals of the Isaac Newton Group of Telescopes and is applicable to all aspects of the ING operation.The provision of this infrastructure is achieved by maintaining a modern core computing service with high availability, high reliability and high security. All this is achieved at optimal cost to the ING. We interest highly in maintaining these services because we believe that the biggest asset we have is our reputation. The continuous improvement of this core service is accomplished by the timely deployment of appropriate emerging information and computing technologies.
