Starlink

Note: The following information is only valid for accounts at the ING.

To set up the environment to use Starlink software you can choose either of the following methods:
For permanent usage:

create the file ~/.starlink
```
     touch ~/.starlink
     
```
log out and back on again. Now you should be able to use Starlink software.

For temporary usage:

in every shell where you would like to use Starlink software do
```
     source /star/etc/login
     source /star/etc/cshrc
     
```
Note: If you want to use GAIA, the temporary method will not be sufficient. You need to enable permanent usage as described above.

To remove permanent usage

remove the ~/.starlink file
```
     rm ~/.starlink
     
```
