Observing in the IR

If you haven't observed in the infrared with arrays before, then there a few extra problems (and techniques for overcoming these), compared to visible CCD observing, that you should know about! Further details can be found in the article Observing with IR arrays by Richard R. Joyce in Astronomical CCD Observing and Reduction Techniques (1992, ASP Conference Series, Vol. 23, p 258, ed. Steve. B. Howell). A copy of this article is held in the WHT control room.
