The ING Sun cluster runs the IRAF data reduction package and all of the Starlink software collection, including Figaro and Kappa. Data files are stored in .SDF format on the VAX system computer; these files can be transferred to the Suns with ftp, and used directly in Figaro and Kappa. To get files into IRAF format, they can be transferred individually using the DMS to SPARC interface, or else transferred from the VAX via a FITS DAT or Exabyte, or disk FITS files, which can be transferred by ftp. There are IRAF manuals and cook-books in blue binders in the control room.
