LEXT allows the user to define a current region of interest by use of the REGION command. Subsequently all graphics and many other operations will only apply to this region. Note that once a plot is displayed of a given region, then the envelope will apply so long as the display is not erased.
REGIONs can be selected in a variety of ways, the default uses the graphics cursor. Another useful way of specifying the REGION is with the /AUTO qualifier: in list mode, this selects the end points according to the extremal values in the current list, whilst in image mode the full size of the image is taken. Alternatively /FULL provides the full image size, whichever mode is selected. REGION/BOX allows the specification of a particular spectrum, REGION/SMALL reduces the size a little, and there are several similar options listed in HELP.
